How do the desktop Thermo Eelectric TTX coolers work?
Aquaport mini-coolers use a patented thermoelectric technology to cool water. This TTX technology eliminates the need for noisy compressors and allows for the compact energy efficient and lightweight design.
Click here for more information on TTX Thermoelectric Cooling Technology.

Can I use any bottle with my mini or floorstanding water cooler?
Yes. Depending on the model purchased, all of our coolers (except AQP-10CS/AO/VC) are designed to fit any standard commercial size bottle supplied by a spring water company (11 &15lt).  You can also use our AQP-FBOT3 Triple Filter Bottle on most coolers supplied in the Australian market. Contact Aquaport for further details 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au

Do I need to clean my water cooler?
Yes. It is recommended that all water coolers (floorstanding or desktop) be sanitised every 3-4 months. Bi-carb soda is the most common substance for sanisting coolers however some coolers may need extra attention so we recommend our AQP-SAN Sanisiting Sachets which is mixed with water and flushed through your water cooler. Click here for further details or contact Aquaport 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au

We also recommend that you wipe the outside of the unit with a non-abrasive cloth prior to inserting into the unit. DO NOT IMMERSE UNIT IN WATER.

Are the Aquaport mini-coolers available in stores?
At this time, to purchase a Aquaport mini-cooler, you must contact Aquaport sales office directly on 08 8354 0711 aquaport@aquaport.com.au or contact/visit your nearest Big W, The Good Guys, Betta Electrical or Retravision store.

Can I use other beverages in my mini-cooler?
Yes, power drinks and vitamin waters will work very well with water coolers with stainless steel tanks, such as our TTX range of desktop coolers. We do not recommend carbonated beverages or beverages that are PERISHABLE once opened. We recommend that the tank be thoroughly rinsed and sanitized after use of any beverage, (other than water), to eliminate any residual flavor. To find out if your cooler can dispenser other beverages please contact us 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au

The filter in my AQP-FBOT3 Triple filter bottle or AQP-10SC/AO/VC Polaclear Little Blue does not allow water to flow through it, what do I do?
If the filter has just been installed in the unit and you are experiencing very little flow the filter maybe blocked. Please re-soak the filter for 20 minutes. Once the filter has been soaking for 20 minutes shake the filter vigorously for 1 minute while still submerged under water. Take the filter out of the water and shake the filter vigorously once more over the sink. This should cause the carbon inside to the filter to separate and allow for better flow. If the filter continues to restrict flow then replace the filter or call aquaport for further info 08 8354 0711 email aquaport@aquaport.com.au

I have an inline Anti-Oxidant Filter installed with my underbench filter system/RO system and the flow is very slow, what do I do?
If the tap (mains water) has TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) over 200ppm (parts per million) and high levels of calcium and heavy metals then the filters may block up faster even after 2-5 months of use. To find out the quality of your water please contact your local filtration company.

We recommend that the customer tries to loosen the filter media inside the filter by shaking it- (in some cases this will help and the filter will work again). We also recommend that the filter be changed within 6-12months of its initial installation date. We do not recommend the filters being used for more than 6-12 months without being replaced.

My desktop unit is not cooling?
Please check if the power and cooling light is on at the front of the unit. If yes and you can hear the fan turning, then the cooling chip may need to be replaced. Please contact aquaport for further details 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au.

If the there are no power or cooling lights at the front of the unit, please ensure that the unit is plugged into a power point and ensure that the switch on the power point and behind the unit are turned on. If both switches are on then you may need a new PCB board. Please contact aquaport for further details 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au. Please read warranty instruction before contacting Aquaport.

My floorstanding compressor unit is not cooling?
For all floorstanding compressor units ensure the cooler has been sitting up right for more then 24 hrs before turning on for the first time only if the unit has been laid down or at angle during transportation. *it is recommended that the unit must always remain upright and never laid down*

Ensure the power cord is installed correctly on unit and plugged into a power point. Ensure that the switch on the power point and behind the unit is turned on. Allow at least an hr or two for the water to cool for the first time.

If after 4 hours there is no cold water and the power and cooling light at the front of the unit is on, and you can hear the compressor you can adjust the thermostat clock wise to increase the temperature. *It is advised that the thermo stat only be adjusted if required as increases may cause the unit to freeze*. If further assistance is require please contact Aquaport for further details 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au. Please read warranty instruction before contacting Aquaport.

My water cooler has no flow?
The bottle maybe empty, check and refill if required.

The unit may have overcooled and frozen the water inside the tank.

Please contact aquaport for further details 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au. Please read warranty instruction before contacting Aquaport.

Leaking Twin under bench filter kits?
Please check the following points to ensure you have followed everything accordingly. It is highly recommended that a qualified plumber install the unit and provide the correct pressure reducing valve for your mains water.

Leaks can occur due the following:

  • Incorrect installation (plumber or other)

  • Cylinder housings being swap around (please check if this has occurred as they are pressure tested when manufactured)

  • Over tightening (can cause internal silicon rings to dislodge)

  • Ensure filter washer is sitting correctly on carbon filter (also can dislodge if over tighten)

Please note that Aquaport will not send out the silicon seals at no cost as they do not rectify the problem, $20 admin charge applies.

If the unit has been checked and continues to leak you have 2 options:
A.    For faulty parts the customer will need to provide us with a copy of their receipt along with a report by a qualified plumber and we will happy supply the parts they require to get there unit in working order.
B.    If the unit is leaking they can either take it back to their place of purchase for a full refund or they can they disconnect the unit (bracket piece and filter housings along with filters) from the inlet and outlet connections (does not require any plumbing to be undone) and send back to Aquaport for testing. We will repair or replace the unit as per the warranty agreement. Freight cost at customer expense. If there is a fault found with the unit we will repair or replace the units and send back at our cost. If no fault is found return freight will be at customer on expense.

Please contact aquaport for further details 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au. Please read warranty instruction before contacting Aquaport.

My unit is shorting out my house or office?
Can be caused by 3 things:

  • Hot tank- if you have a hot/cold unit the heating element inside the hot tank may have failed. This is quite common occurrence as most hot tank elements will only last approx 3 years if used regularly. If the unit is under warranty please return to your place of purchase with your original receipt or contact Aquaport 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au. If the unit is out of warranty the hot tank can be replaced at a cost.

  • Compressor – the compressor may have a fault and subsequently will short your system. If the unit is under warranty please return to your place of purchase with your original receipt or contact Aquaport 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au.

  • Earth leakage – your unit maybe over loading your safety switch. This is quite common, below is information about earth leakage and what should be done.

What is Earth Leakage?
You may plug in a water cooler and it will run perfectly for 1 week or 1 day or 1hr
then short out. There are a number of factors that can contribute to this however it
may relate to “Earth Leakage”. The follow can create an earth leak:
a.       Moisture around the power cord (common with high humidity area of Australia such as QLD)
b.       Internal Leaks onto wiring (from the water bottle or internal tank/fittings) also can be caused by moisture.
c.        Earth leakage overload (too many products earth leaking on one circuit and trigger safety switch to turn off)

All new homes must be fitted with a safety switch. The switch it designed so that it automatically turns offs when an electrical item has a large amount of “earth” leakage. Earth leakage is measured in milli amps “mA”. A safety switch has a maximum rating of 30mA, once it goes over this amount the safety switch shuts off all power in the home or office. Large amounts of earth leakage can contribute to an electric shock so the manufacturers have set it to a rating that they believe is safe for all house holds.

Every safety switch is different and some are more sensitive then others. Even though they are rated at 30mA, it may only be operating at 19 or 24 mA. This is not necessarily a bad thing but a difference of 1mA could be all that is needed to trip the safety switch.  It is advised that an electrician tests its rating by using a “Polarity Meter”.

Unfortunately most homes have a number of products installed, mainly in the kitchen and all have a small amount of earth leakage. The main culprits are fridges, freezers, coffee machines and of course water coolers predominantly because they have a compressor and/or hot tank with a heating element.  When a new product is introduced to a house hold, such as a water cooler, the circuit maybe already at its limit and is waiting for another product with an earth leakage to trigger it off.

Keep in mind that earth leakage fluctuates and is very hard to measure hence why these occurrences are known in the industry as “nuisances tripping”.

The water cooler may also short out the circuit breaker. This is different to the safety
switch. When a circuit breaker shorts out if could mean that there is a fault with the
electronics of the products. For water coolers this is very rare but could also be a
possibility.

Quick test
One simply procedure to identify if the water cooler or safety switch has a fault is to physically turn off and unplug every appliance on the same circuit that the water cooler is plugged into, including any fridges/freezers, TV’s, DVD’s etc. If the water cooler does not short out then this is an indication that you safety switch is at its limit and a certified electrician must be called to advise a solution. Attentively return the unit to your place of purchase and exchange the unit for a cold and room temperature water cooler. If the water cooler shorts out please contact Aquaport 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au for further information.

Preventing short outs
We cannot prevent short outs entirely however we can minimize them. One way is to purchase an RCD electric safety plug with a 30mA rating. This works by being plugged into the wall socket before the power cord of the water cooler is plugged in. if there is an earth leak for any reason it will trigger the RCD safety switch instead of the entire house hold or office. These are quite common and can be purchased at any electrical supplier.

The only other option is to purchase a cold/room unit. We find that all issues revolve around mixing hot water and electricity together, as soon as you take the hot tank out of the cooler there are no problems.

“Short-out” check list
Before contacting Aquaport 08 8354 0711 or aquaport@aquaport.com.au please run thought this following check list so that our after sales service can advise and help further:

How old is the unit?
Where was the unit purchased from?
Is the unit a hot/cold or cold/room?
How long was it plugged in before it shorted?
Where is it plugged in?
Are there any other appliances connected to the same socket and/or circuit in the vicinity of the cooler?
Does the water cooler still shorts out when all other appliances been physically turn off an unplugged from the wall?
What type of bottle is being used?
Is the cooler in an area renowned for high humidity?
Is there any evidence of water leakage internally or externally?
Is home fitted with a safety switch?
Did the cooler short the circuit breaker or electrical safety switch?
